I first posted a notice that I received a script error right after typing in my serial number and hitting next.īut then I tried it again and (for some strange reason) it worked. I'll put up another reply with results after I try all this. Is that meaning uninstall, reinstall and THEN if you still have a problem use the clean up tool?īut I guess basically, to read between your lines, this must be one huge awful coincidence with everything else I'm having trouble with. There would be nothing to clean up after you uninstall. Uninstall everything then use the clean up too? That doesn't make sense. In that second link you give me it warns: You should always use the Windows Control Panel to uninstall first and if there is an issue then use the cleanup tool. I might have to just try reinstalling it all over. I started to do a repair via the Control Panel/Uninstall thing in Windows, but then realized the discs were in my office elsewhere and didn't feel like retrieving them then.

I just looked at your first link and it says that is for PSP 2020, so I don't think I should try to install any fixes it offers for 2020 when I have 2019.should I? I'm almost ready to start up with buying dark room equipment. All I know right now is that the only computer that can let me work with any graphics program that I own right now is my desktop with XP!

I am not asking anyone to solve this Windows problem (unless of course you can) but I would at least like to know if anyone has been experiencing this, either with this new update or in previous updates. I am having an ongoing conversation with people at Microsoft (I think I"m up to my 6th or 7th person, including three different agents, two supervisors, one Tier 2 tech, and one from "escalation") and I haven't even mentioned this problem with Paint Shop because it just happened after my last conversation with them. So the only difference that I can see is this new update with Windows.

This has never ever ever happened to me with Paint Shop Pro (or photoshop or even any other application). I reset the whole program through it's own reset tool (I believe it erases all the personal preference you have set for workspaces.)

And I have tried it for the native Paint Shop Pro file type (psp). I click the "ok" button on that and I then get: "Unable to create the file". an easy file type, yes? And I get, first: "Unspecified Error". And that gives me a workspace, finally, and I click edit/paste from whatever it says (special?) and it pastes in.īut then I click to save, I choose jpg. I figure out a work around by clicking on the "edit" tab that's at the top of the open screen. I reopen and try "new file from template" and poof it's gone again. So I clicked on "New file" and the whole thing just shut down completely - poof it's gone. But all I was trying to do was paste an image from the clipboard. So I'm one step ahead of Photoshop there. (Photoshop gets stuck at finding a twain file and shuts down). But I hadn't tried using PSP since today. Now about two or three weeks ago or so, a new upgrade was forced upon me. But PSP worked and it continued to work when I was forced to upgrade to 1803. I don't know which version of Windows 10 it had. I bought PSP soon after buying a brand new Surface a year ago. But I bought PSP Pro last year as kind of a back up and thought it would maybe have a few different things I could use since I never have bought into all the upgrades Adobe has offered (let alone the subscription service). I don't want to have to explain or defend my wishing to use them. First it disabled the use of two old but working programs (Adobe CS2 both Photoshop and InDesign). I have recently been forced into the latest Windows 10 update, version 1903.
